A small checkpoint...

Sometimes, data isn't about numbers at all. It's about noticing patterns that quietly matter. In one of our past projects, I worked with data that showed where tragic events had happened - "incidents" - moments when people made a choice they might not have made on another day.
What that data revealed was simple, but powerful: a tiny change in design - a barrier, a fence, an extra step - could make a difference. A small checkpoint between impulse and action.
Data doesn’t save lives. People do. But the patterns data reveals can show us where a small checkpoint - a fence, a pause, a conversation - could make all the difference. 💚
That lesson holds true beyond infrastructure. Sometimes the barrier isn't physical - it’s a conversation, a connection, a check-in. So if today feels heavy, or if someone crosses your mind - reach out. Look after each other.
Who’s someone you might check in with today?
